Animated GIF

Hi there!

With a little bit of disgust I saw this animated GIF on "my" page:

68 KByte for such a simple effect... And they have another one of this, so in total ~140 KByte.
Does anybody know of a better (performance-wise) technique to do this? Or a possibility to compress Animated GIF's?

use the url feature, the upload won't work on all animated gifs. That image will save 10% or so smushed.

Actually I found JASC Animation Shop (Freeware) and with that I was able to cut the size by more than 50%, from 70.150 Bytes to 34.735 Bytes.
