I have an e-commerce website where a majority of my pages have a lot of images. This is increasing my number of HTTP requests and hence taking a huge load time. Is there a way to reduce the requests ? I was thinking on the lines of using a CDN for all the image requests ? will it help

Thanks

I had the same problem with our website (cornhole boards). I created my own CDN script that does lossless compression for PNG & JPG's as well as client side and server side caching. My site now has straight A's for the report, excluding the CDN because it's not known.

We use very high quality and large photos and was pushing near 8Mb's on a page load before optimization. Take a look, www.cornholeboards.us
