DNS Setting to use local DNS

Hello Forum,

Sorry if this thread was already discussed earlier.

I am trying to use WebPageTest (WPT) for a test a webpage what uses some analytic tags and it seems like for some reason, it always uses a DNS server which is located in the US! Like even though I choose Singapore as the test origin, it come all the way to US and this causing latency issues!

Questions I have are:

1. Is this a local browser setting?
2. Can we configure it in such a way that it always uses the nearest local DNS ?

Depends on how the Singapore test server is setup.

Do you have a test results link that shows the DNS lag?

The tester info page has information about the DNS servers configured for each test location: http://www.webpagetest.org/getTesters.php?f=html

It looks like Singapore is probably run on EC2 but it uses anycast resolvers local to Singapore. What makes you think it is using servers in the US? If you are using a geo-location service that relies on DNS there's a chance that they don't handle EC2 geo-location well (and those usually also do a really bad job for anyone using Google's global DNS servers).
